This plant was bred from two standout truncata forms selected for size, color, and strong growth. That gives it the potential for some really impressive pitchers as it matures.

One parent, known as the “JB” form, came from the collection of the late Jim Bockowski and has reportedly produced pitchers up to 19 inches tall. The other parent comes from a red flush line known for huge traps and wide, heavily flared peristomes. That combination is what makes this hybrid so exciting to grow.

Because this is a seed-grown cross, every plant can show a little variation. Some may lean more toward giant size, while others may show stronger red striping or darker color. Mine is already showing that red flush and striped upper pitcher, which had me worried at first until I learned it was part of its genetics.
